چکیده
Background Delayed Gandolinium Myocardium Enhancement (DE) extent on Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (CMR) is significantly correlated to biomarkers of myocardial injury in patients with acute viral myocarditis, and is a significant independent predictor of adverse cardiovascular outcome. Arterial Venrticular Coupling (VAC) is related to the efficiency of mechanical energy transfer from the heart to the arteries, and it has been expressed by means of the ratio of effective arterial elastance (Ea) to end-systolic elastance (Ees), which is relatively independent of loading conditions. In this work we aimed to evaluate alterations in Ees, Ea and VAC indices in relation with DE in patients with acute myocarditis.

Purpose: To assess the relationship between the severity of coronary arteries involvement and the extent and pattern of myocardial scars in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance of patients with history of remote myocardial infarction. Materials and Methods: The Cardiac Magnetic Resonance images of sixty patients with history of remote ST segment or non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction were ...
متن کاملMyocardial fibrosis delineation in late gadolinium enhancement images of Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy patients using deep learning methods
Introduction: Accurate delineation of myocardial fibrosis in Late Gadolinium Enhancement on Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (LGE-CMR) has a crucial role in the assessment and risk stratification of HCM patients. As this is time-consuming and requires expertise, automation can be essential in accelerating this process. This study aims to use Unet-based deep learning methods to automate the mentioned ...
متن کاملValue of gadolinium-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging in patients with Tako-Tsubo-like left ventricular dysfunction.
We present gadolinium-enhanced cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMRI) in Tako-Tsubo-like left ventricular dysfunction showing the findings in acute phase and in follow-up. Gadolinium-enhanced CMRI allows to distinguish between myocardial infarction and other myocardial alterations, e.g., myocarditis. CMRI may thus permit to non-invasively identify patients with Tako-Tsubo syndrome by ruling ...
متن کاملDiagnosis of acute myocarditis by cardiovascular magnetic resonance in a patient with chest pain, positive troponin, and normal coronary arteries.
rom the Cardiovascular agnetic Resonance Unit, oyal Brompton Hospital, ondon, United Kingdom. anuscript received arch 11, 2009, accepted arch 25, 2009. The finding of normal coronary arteries in patients admitted with chest pain and positive troponin is well recognized. Owing to its ability to provide tissue characterization, cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging allows a diagnosis of myoca...
متن کاملHow Should We Diagnose Myocarditis, and Is its Recognition Really Clinically Relevant?
A lthough the clinical spectrum of acute myocarditis varies from cardiogenic shock to asymptomatic electrocardiographic abnormalities during community viral outbreaks, its 3 most common clinical presentations are chest pain mimicking acute myocardial infarction, ventricular arrhythmias, and heart failure due to new-onset dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) (1,2). Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imagi...
